Na haar stichting in 1984 als Sangoma Technologies verkreeg de onderneming gauw een reputatie als voerende producent van robuste datacommunicatie-producten op basis van een PC-platform. In mei 2000 werd Sangoma Technologie door een reverse takeover een beursonderneming aan de Venture Exchange Toronto (TSXV:STC).
Vanaf haar opening naar de telecommunicatiemarkt in 2005 is de onderneming bestendig gegroeid en is meer dan verdubbeld. De kwaliteit van Sangoma’s hardware heeft bijgedragen om Asterisk®, de geliefde open source telefonietoepassing en -toolkit, marktrijp voor het gebruik in ondernemingen te maken. De datacommunicatie-producten van Sangoma leveren nog altijd connectiviteit zelfs voor de meest critische netwerken. Ze zijn ideaal voor elk soort WAN-connectiviteit, van de support van traditionele componenten tot protocolconversie en de nieuwste highspeed routing-oplossingen.
Door haar flexibiliteit en haar engagement om uitstekende service en support te bieden, konde Sangoma nauwe en duurzame relaties met de grootste fabrikanten van oorspronkelijke apparatuur (OEMs), wederverkopers met meerwaarde, systemintegratoren, telecommunicatie-maatschappijen en software-ontwikkelaars wereldwijd opbouwen.
Vandaag verkoopt Sangoma haar producten over een netwerk van "Empowered by Sangoma" Channel Partners in meer dan 130 landen.
